It's been a horrible day

Today has been horrible. One of our crew members drowned today while at the beach with a group of friends. He was 21 years old and from Texas. Please pray for his four friends that witnessed the drowning and his parents and two sisters in Texas. Also pray for all the crew here as he was well-loved and there is so much sadness. It's going to be a really tough week.

Thank you Father that You are in control even when we can't possibly comprehend the 'why' of this. Wrap Your loving arms around his family and friends and draw them close. Thank you that we know that Collin is now in your awesome presence.

Make sure you hug your kids today and tell them you love them.

Dear friend,

I am sorry to hear this. Glad for him that he beat us to heaven but I know this is a hard time. You all are in my prayers!

Also thank you for your blog. I look so forward to reading it and seeing what God is up to in you and through you. I always read with kleenex because it is so beautiful. May your heart be held tightly by our Heavenly Papa!

love and blessings,

Dear Michele,

I am the mother of one of Collin's closest friends growing up in the small east Texas town of Rusk. The news of Collin's drowning was and is shocking. I haven't seen Collin since he was 14 years old, but he was a good kid. He would have been 22 this Wednesday. He went on vacations with us, ate many meals at my table, slept many nights in my backyard in a tent, and made us all laugh. He will be missed by many.

He was a recent Texas A&M graduate in pre-med. He was a good young man. I understand his family is devastated, who would not be? I pray for all his friends, old and new, and his family.

You are doing wonderful work.

You and all the ones on the Mercy Ship and the family of Collin Carroll are in our prayers.

God Bless,
Connye in Tyler, TX

Bummer Michele! Sorry to hear the sad news for his family, you and your ship's family. My condolences to everyone there. Your background will be a blessing as you share comfort (2 Corinthians 1) to your family there. God bless, Gary

Dear Michele,

I came across your blog last week and I wanted to thank you for adding us to you prayer requests. Collin is my precious son. It will be nine weeks tomorrow and the pain we feel is beyond words.
We will be traveling to Monrovia on October 18. Please continue to pray for us as we make this difficult journey.
